Internet Marketing 101

June 27th, 2003

Hey everyone;

Well as you know I wrote about a scam last week but left out the actual company name the scam was targeting. Funny thing was within an hour it started coming out on the news web sites and then on the news on TV that evening. You probably know now the company was BestBuy, plus the fact someone was trying to get their customer's personal information with a fake BestBuy site.

Hmmm, maybe it was my phone call, grin... I doubt it since the fake site was already down and removed from the internet.

Geesh, some of these crooks will go to no end to avoid putting in a good days work.

Anyway, last night I was in a conference call with Willie Crawford, Tony Blake and several others and the subject of conference calls and teleseminars came up.

One person was asking if it was a trend, or just a phase people were going through now because there are so many of them.

In general I think everyone agreed that a lot of the reasons are:

People can attend them without having to travel.
People get to interact with other people. (Like brainstorming almost)
You can get a lot of informative information in a short period of time.

I won't go into a great detail on it since I wrote about teleseminars in a previous newsletter, but anyway then another subject that came up was polls and asking your list what they wanted to see.

That's what I would like to do today. Rather than write a long newsletter for today, I want to ask you to send me an email on how I can improve my newsletter. I really do want to improve the newsletter and give my readers information they would find helpful.

I'm not going to list a bunch of items to choose from and such, or a long list of questions to hit reply and answer below each one in the email. I know you have received those before.

I like to simply keep it simple. Yeah I know KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid).
Hmmm, someone must have changed my name. It use to be Darn it.

Or I grew up thinking that was my name.
My Dad would say to me:
Do this, darn it.
Do that, darn it.
Quit that, darn it.

Ok anyway, please shoot me an email and just tell me what you would like to see more of and how I can improve this newsletter. You can hit reply and send your comments or shoot an email to the comments email box at the end of this newsletter if you are reading it online.

Don't be afraid of hurting my feelings, I have thick skin. You need it to be in this business. If I didn't want to know then of course I wouldn't ask...grin...

Ok one last thing, I don't fill up my newsletter with bunches of ads either, like one right after the other. In fact that was another topic last night about the many ezines now that hawk one product after the next.

Geesh if they have bought and reviewed each and every one of these products then they are spending a fortune. Yeah right!

It's sad to see so many newbies especially, making this mistake. No wonder so many people use the delete key on many newsletters. All they are, are electronic bulletin boards full of ads.

Well that leads me up to this. Yes this is an ad, well not an ad, an announcement....grin.... yeah Gary in your dreams.

Tomorrow I'm holding a teleseminar with Tony Blake, Willie Crawford, Michael Green and Jeff Smith. It's about creating info products. I'm hosting the event and will be putting them on the hot seat as callers drill them with questions about creating, finding and promoting info products.

It should be a lot of fun and it will be very informative with these experts fielding the questions. I hope you will shoot over to the below link and at least read more about the event:
