SoBig Virus:
Well I'm still getting emails and our bandwidth is still being eaten up
by this virus. Hopefully it will cease to exist on September 10th (today),
or it is supposed too anyway.

As always, when using or installing ANY new software such as an anti-virus
or firewall program always have a BACKUP of your data. Remember
all machines are not created equal, so what may run fine on one machine
may not be the case on another machine due to the many configurations
of various computers...grin...
Of course for the most part, commercial software does work on most computers,
but always better to be safe than sorry.

Ok, onward we go, as you may have noticed (or not) I have changed my publishing
schedule. It's still weekly but just not on Fridays. What I'm doing is
testing various days to see if the response varies for various days. I'm
sure I'll settle on a specific day soon.
Then again I may just publish weekly, but not on a specific day, but rather
what fits my schedule better. It depends upon the response and comments...
grin...
So while I'm on the subject of testing, let me share my experience from
my last teleseminar's advertising. This time around I decided to make
it more descriptive and deviate from my usual sales page that I use. I
also used a very simple graphic for the header at the sales page, rather
than a colorful full blown graphic.

The results were surprising!
I had about a 50% higher conversion rate this time around. This time I
tried to make the site even more personal than I usually do, plus I went
into more details about each of the speakers and specific products and
success they have had. I included the usual bio, but I decided to take
that a step further by writing about them in the body of the sales letter
as well.
So more personal, descriptive and longer does seem to work better for
sales pages. How many times have you read this folks?
However I still have to do some more research to be sure. I do have to
take into account that one speaker alone generated 40% of the signups.
So it might not just be the sales page, it could also be attributed to
the speakers "connection" with their list as well.
Many may have signed up anyway, however I find that hard to imagine if
the sales page had been a total fluke...grin...
So again it goes back to testing.
DO YOU track your results from ads, such as clicks, sales from
those clicks, total targeted circulation of your advertising campaign
and other such details?
If not, then how do you know what is effective or what is a waste of
time?
Test, test and more testing. Then target the most effective methods from
those tests. Then test some more to see if you can beat those results.
This should be an ongoing method in your daily promotions.

Many of you know I consider "taking action" and doing
something very important. I also consider attitude very important. If
we have a lousy attitude then how can we reflect a serious or positive
attitude in our promotions and in our dealings with others?
Geesh, I'm sure many of you have been on the bad end of an email, or conversation
with a client or customer who obviously was in a bad mood or maybe even
just had a bad attitude...grin...

day, you'll be sick. If you put bad thoughts into your mind all day you'll
be sick. Feed your mind good "food".
7. Accept yourself, warts and all.
A happy life is being able to accept that you aren't perfect, and "they"
aren't perfect, and taking responsibility for how it affects those around
you. "This is my problem, and this is how I'm handling it." Others
will be encouraged by you.

I mean hey folks, I think everyday is a good day when I don't read my
name in the morning paper's obituaries for that day...
Funny thing how life goes isn't it. There are good days, bad days, and
some that fall in between...grin...
Let me relate an incident that happened last week. Right when last week's
teleseminar (paid) was starting I received an email asking if I could
let them join the event and they had a credit card and included their
phone number.
Since I was already doing the introduction live I couldn't process the
order, so I shot them the phone and access information. They emailed back
and said thanks and I could contact them for the payment information the
next day.
Ok, so I'm a "trusting type of person" and don't mind giving
people the benefit of the doubt. I emailed them the next day to see when
would be a good time to contact them, and so far no response after 6 days...
hmmm, go figure.
So NOW, I'm not sure if I am a "trusting type of person" or
a fool kind of person.
...big grin...
Even if they didn't like the event (read money back guarantee), then they
could afford me the courtesy of a reply saying so. Oh well I guess that's
one for experience I can add to my list.
Needless to say their name is etched in my memory, so now I'm waiting
for another such request in the future, or maybe a request for a JV from
them in the future...grin...
Now don't get me wrong, I have given away more than my share of my products
to people in difficult or cash crunched situations, but it was by my own
choosing. This is different...
But hey, I can live with it, if they can. I'm sure at some point in the
future I'll do it again... just not the so close future. Yep, I'm human
and have feelings too.
Of course I'll probably get an email about the time I send this out, making
me feel bad too. No they are not on this list, so I didn't mean it that
way.
